Elder Mark is Anishinaabe and a member of the Turtle Clan. He has been happily married to Wendy Phillips for 25 years. He is grateful to have welcomed 7 Children, 18 Grandchildren & 4 Great Grandchildren into the world.

Mark has over 50 years of experience as a Ceremonial Conductor. 

Mark also has been a Red Hawk Singer for over 40 years. The Red Hawk Singers are a drum group that performs traditional music for pow-wows and events. They have been singing together since 1980.
